"The Last Bus" was written by Joe Ainsworth as his first feature-length film; the English sceeenwriter mainly works for television where he has penned numerous episodes of soaps "Brookside" and "Holby City" and cotributed to other long-running dramas as well. His script - which chronicles the journey from the northernmost to the southernmost point of Britain, made by a pensioner and exclusively by local bus - was realized by veteran Scottish filmmaker Gillies MacKinnon, who previously directed Steve Martin in "A Simple Twist of Fate", Kate Winslet in "Hideous Kinky", and presented house-swap dramedy #0576 "Tara Road" back in 2005. Here's the trailer for the last bus:
And how did you enjoy this different kind of road movie (and perhaps advertisement for the current 9-Euro ticket in Germany)? How did you like the performances, by Timothy Spall and Ben Ewing as Tom, by Phyllis Logan and Natalie Mitson as his wife Mary, plus many other actors who played people Tom met on the way? How did you like the structure of a classic road movie (just by bus, not by car), interwoven with little episodes on the way and flashbacks to Tom and Mary life? Please let us know what you think of this film in a reply to this posting.

Re: #1374 The Last Bus (2021)
Muss jeder selbst entscheiden, was besser passt...
