#1529 Memoir of a Snail on imdb:

A bittersweet memoir of a melancholic woman called Grace Pudel - a hoarder of snails, romance novels, and guinea pigs.

I generally like animation movies, some for their astonishing real-like animations and others for the imagination to support a good story by sometimes quite weird looking optics. This one was definitely one of the latter category. The story was well told as a look back at the main characters life (and her snails). Absolute sweet characters and a good mix of funny, sad and thought-worthy stuff - I loved that! I had an incorrect hunch where the story would lead at the beginning, but when the prepared surprise scene came I smelled the rat and was not surprised towards the end.

Solid 1 is the only rating I can give here, such a sweet and entertaining little film this was!

Ich gebe dem Film eine 3+.

Ich will nicht verhehlen, daß der Film gut ausschaut und liebevoll gemacht ist. Storytechnisch ist das aber bestenfalls 75% von einem Film; viele Ideen werden mit der Zeit einfach fallen gelassen. Am deutlichsten wird das bei Graces Bruder Gilbert, Das wirkte fast so, als sei den Machern kurz vor dem Ziel das Geld ausgegangen.

Ansonsten ist der Film aber nett und hat (zumeist schwarzen oder dunkegrauen) Humor. Für den Zweierbereich reicht es bei mir aber nicht, im Gegensatz zu Roughale und (vermutlich auch) emma.
